Whether you're new to TransTape or have been around since the beginning, there's a good chance you have moments where you could really use an extra hand or word of advice. I think we've all been there at least once and thankfully TransTape is well aware and gives us a few options to choose from. If you're feeling stuck or looking for guidance, you're in the right place and help is on the way!
Hello, my good souls!
Are you ready to learn about TransTape?
I sure hope so, because I have an entire post written about it.
But if that's not your vibe today, maybe check out the TransTape video course! More on that later on.
If you've been here before, you already know I'm going to take you through a nice recap about what TransTape is and the general basics.
So feel free to skip ahead if you're already familiar.
But if you're new to TransTape, some of the information could be helpful!
Which means you should totally stick around and read it.
..TransTape?
TransTape is the ORIGINALÂ Body Transformation System!
And in case you didn't know, transformation is where the Trans in TransTape comes from!
More often than not, it's assumed that TransTape is only for people who identify as transgender. But that's just not the case at all!
TransTape is an all-inclusive, compression free, gender affirming product that can be used in place of things like binders, bras, compression clothing, gaffes and harnesses.
Users are free to live, laugh, love to their hearts desire.
You can wear TransTape for multiple days at a time, the average is usually about 3-5, and you're able to sleep, shower, sweat and swim as your authentic self!
The name of the game is gender euphoria for all and TransTape is out here taking names.
TransTape is made from a blend of 95% cotton and 5% spandex.
And this fantastic blend is accompanied by hypoallergenic, medical-grade, acrylic adhesive that is latex free and non-medicated.
TransTape strives to provide the best experience for all users by using quality materials, but this doesn't guarantee that it will be the right product for you and your body.
Now, what do I mean by that?
What I mean is, everybody is different and our bodies can react to materials, no matter how great the quality is, differently.
This is totally normal and completely okay, by the way! It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you OR your body!
I know that's not the answer we ever want to hear when we're in search of gender affirming products, but it happens. And that doesn't mean you should give up your search for the right product for YOU, either!
But the easiest way for you to see if TransTape is right for you is with a test strip.
We're all doing the test strip, right?
RIGHT?!
We're not all using it and I know that for a fact, so let's talk about it!
If you didn't know, the test strip is this not-so-mythical thing that all the best people take the time to do before applying TransTape for the very first time.
And you're one of the best of the best, right? Yes, you sure are.
All you have to do is cut a piece of TransTape as small as 1" x 1" (2.5cm x 2.5cm) and apply it to a part of your body that you are able to easily monitor for 24 hours.
Arm, wrist, thigh, chest, wherever it will be visible to you throughout the day!
You're monitoring for any redness, tenderness and overall discomfort.
Keeping the test strip small makes it easier to avoid overstretching and other common application accidents that could show similar signs to an adhesive reaction.
If you're looking for a better step by step breakdown, check out this other blog post I made a while back!
Help?
Now that we have the very basics of TransTape down, we can move on to what you really came here for.
Lessons on how to skip rocks.
No.
Where to find more help with TransTape!
I didn't actually forget.
Everyone at some point in their life has needed a helping hand.
After-all, we're human and humans are built for community. We're supposed to help each other out and spread the love!
If the handy-dandy user guide that comes with every purchase, and is also free for download on the website, there are other places where you can find help.
The HelpDesk, the free Video Course, and fellow TransTape users!
So let's talk about them!
HelpDesk
The TransTape HelpDesk is a live chat located on the TransTape website where you will talk directly with a member of the TransTape team.
From questions about application to help with orders, this is the go-to place.
If you're having difficulty with your application, someone can help you along the way step by step and this can be especially helpful for beginners.
Even if you're not a beginner, you can still reach out to the HelpDesk with any difficulties or questions!
Things like excess irritation or questions about the adhesive or product itself.
This all sounds wonderful, but what if I'm not the best at learning through chatting?
Fear not!
If you still feel like you need more assistance and/or are more of a visual learner, you can also request a video chat through the HelpDesk.
Woo!
Being able to video chat with someone who knows the ins and outs of TransTape is extremely helpful and that's why it's available for anyone who needs it.
The TransTape HelpDesk is typically available on the website from 10am to 8pm, Monday through Friday!
See you there!
Video Course
I mentioned it briefly in the beginning, but TransTape offers a totally free video course that can be accessed on the website!
This is a priceless resource for new users and seasoned users alike.
In the video course library, you can find videos on everything from unboxing your tape, information about removal oil, how to apply and/or create nipple guards and of course, application and removal.
And for the record, there are multiple videos of different body types for chest application.
There are roughly 15 different videos to choose from in the video course library, so there's a pretty decent chance you'll be able to find something helpful in your time of need.
If you don't see a video where someone has a similar body type as yours, I would highly recommend watching multiple videos, including ones with different sizes, to get a good feel for the different options and techniques that are out there.
Even if your body is a little different than someone else's, their technique may be the key to unlocking your perfect application!
If the HelpDesk isn't available and you're looking for immediate answers, the video course should be your next stop.
Personally, I think everyone should browse the video library before applying TransTape. There's a ton of useful information and helpful tips throughout every video.
It's an amazing resource to have, so use it up!
TransTape Community
If the chat isn't your cup of tea and the video course doesn't have the answer you're looking for, there is always the loving TransTape Community.
What I mean by that, is that there are so many incredible TransTape users out there posting their own experiences with TransTape.
You can actually meet some of the models who create content here!
The official TransTape social media accounts consistently post photos and videos of TransTape users and their creative content and that's fantastic and wonderful.
But the official TransTape pages aren't the only places to find helpful content!
Following the users who are tagged in TransTape videos, as well as any other users posting about the official and original TransTape product, can also be extremely helpful and validating.
It's not all sunshine and rainbows all the time, the learning curve with TransTape can have people feeling frustrated and it's good to see you're not alone sometimes. Even if it's just reading through Reddit!
Even if you have the basics down, many users post about tips for removal, extending applications and how to make application easier and more enjoyable.
So next time you see or watch someone give you some stellar tips about TransTape, follow them and check out the rest of their content!
There's an entire community out there ready to help you in your time of need, all you gotta do is reach out!
You can TransTape on Instagram (@Trans_Tape), TikTok (@Trans_Tape) and YouTube (@TransTape).
Here are some users to check out on IG in the meantime:
Jace (jrubs91)
Ki Jace (kijacedavis)

Check them out on other platforms as well!
Feel Better?
Due to the nature of the product, we tend to work with parts of our body that may bring us some form of discomfort at times.
And there's nothing wrong with not being totally in love with your body 24/7, many of us are going through these same feelings and nobody is perfect.
Trying something new, or doing anything in general, while being uncomfortable can be, well, uncomfortable.
It can very easily become stressful and frustrating and have you silently, or loudly, screaming for some form of help from anyone that will listen.
And that's why it's important to know where to find help!
If you take nothing else from this post, please take this.
You are not alone.
We all need help sometimes!
YES! All of us!
And there's nothing wrong with needing, or asking, for help.
Next time you find yourself struggling with something, I challenge you to ask for help.
TransTape related or not, ask for it.
I dare you.
You'll actually be surprised with how many people are willing to help when you ask for it.
And not even just willing, they want to!
You don't always have to be your own hero, friend.
So next time, give someone else the opportunity to play hero.
And give yourself a well deserved break.
Until next time,
Stay awesome.
Stay beautiful.
Stay you.
You are loved and it gets better.
Talk to you soon,
Jamie
Welcome to the cool kids club!
My name is Jamie and I'm a young (ish) transman born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York state. I started my transition in May of 2017 and since then, I've made it my mission to live unapologetically as myself and spread awareness through my pursuit of happiness. I am the creator and writer of Spilling T blog, a proud affiliate of TransTape and when I'm not outside with the best dog ever or hanging out with my two cats, I make and sell my own beard care products through Buckaroo's Beard Care. I'm always looking for my next adventure and have been skydiving, road-tripping, hiking in the mountains and even served for a short time in the United States Marine Corps. My life has had its fair share of twists and turns and I hope to use those experiences to create helpful and relatable content that may help someone else navigate a difficult time in life.
